Rolling Meadows, Il., May 1, 2017- We are pleased to announce the VitaHEAT UB3 has been awarded a contract from HealthTrust, the national committed-model group purchasing organization. The contract was awarded following a review by a member-comprised surgical advisory board with expertise in this category. The VitaHEAT® UB3 Patient Warming System is available to members via HealthTrust contract, VitaHEAT (#20299) as of May 1, 2017.
The UB3 system is an under-body patient warming system that uses conductive ink warming technology, featuring both battery and plug-in AC accessory options. The ability to easily warm patients throughout the perioperative experience is a key component to keep patients in normothermia. VitaHEAT® UB3 is engineered for safety and ease of use. It is always on and can be used throughout all perioperative phases due to the AC and Battery design.
“VitaHEAT® is dedicated to providing patient warming solutions aimed at reducing health care costs and improving patient outcomes. This aligns with HealthTrust values. The contract award will help us quickly bring this technology to hospitals and health care professionals nationwide. We are pleased HealthTrust has awarded a contract for our VitaHEAT® UB3 and that we will now be part of a broad portfolio of solutions for their members,” said Peter Farmakis, CEO, VitaHEAT Medical®.
VitaHEAT launched the VitaHEAT® UB3 Patient Warming System in January 2016, following four years of product development. The system was designed under the FDA’s 21 CFR Part 820 quality management system. It includes eight interactive temperature sensors to actively monitor temperature and six independent heating zones to provide consistent control of the warming surface.
